Holland, MI – November 17, 2022 – JR Automation, a leading global systems integrator and wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), is pleased to announce the opening of its newly built, state-of-the-art facility in Lake Orion, Michigan. With over 227,500 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, the new facility will become the company’s primary location within the Metro Detroit area for large automation projects; consolidating the previously leased facilities in Pontiac, Shelby Township, and Sterling Heights. Located at 1427 Brown Rd., JR Automation’s newest location is less than a half mile east of its existing 1000 Brown Rd. facility, which will now focus on smaller footprint automation projects while also expanding its machine shop capabilities.
"The enormous amount of manufacturing space this new building provides confirms our investment and commitment within this community and our availability to take on more work,” said Brian Rogus, Vice President, Esys Division at JR Automation. “The consolidation of our teams and work to within two blocks will allow us to be more efficient and reduce our overall time and travel costs.”
JB Donaldson and Orion Township played key roles in supporting the development and ensuring the project remained on time despite being challenged with the pandemic and facing supply chain and labor shortage issues. “The construction of this facility has been quite an undertaking. It has the largest footprint of any facility that JR Automation has ever constructed,” said Lucy Ballesteros, EHS & Facilities Specialist, JR Automation. “We truly appreciate the support received from our partners including Orion Township and JB Donaldson.”
